Shawnee Harle - Mental Performance Coach

I help athletes navigate emotional storms by giving them tools to understand what’s going on in their head—and their heart.
Here's why...I was coaching at the Olympics in the quarterfinals. We were losing, to a team we should beat, and an emotional storm was brewing.  When the storm hit, we didn't know what to do with our fear and nerves.

We didn't know what to do when the voice of self-doubt took over. We didn't know what to do when the pressure hit. We didn't have the tools to manage our emotions.
On the biggest day, the biggest stage of our lives, we LOST.

It wasn’t our lack of skill or preparation or fitness that let us down; it was our inability to manage our emotions.  I saw, firsthand that, "Just be confident," or "We got this," are band-aids, and they fall off when fear takes over.
What I learned from this heart breaking experience is this...
You must do the OPPOSITE of what sport teaches.  Instead of FAKE it, you must FACE it.

Storms are coming whether you want them or not. Instead of running, denying, or avoiding them, equip yourself. Learn to manage them.

You stop HIDING from your feelings.  You FACE them.  ALL OF THEM.
You learn to CALM THE EMOTIONAL STORMS.
These are not just skills for sport.
 These are skills for LIFE.
